Cajun Shrimp With Dirty Rice and Okra

For the Dirty Rice with Okra

  • 1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Yellow Onion
  • 1/4 cup Celery, small chopped
  • 1 cup White Rice, Long Grain
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Okra, cut
  • 1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 2 tsp Cajun Seasoning, your favorite

For the Sea Cuisine Cajun Shrimp

  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 package Sea Cuisine Cajun Shrimp
  • 2 tbsp Parsley, rough chopped, reserve 1 tbsp for garnish
  1. For the Dirty Rice with Okra: In a medium pot with a tight fitting cover, heat olive oil and butter until it foams and begins to brown. Add the celery and onion and cook, while stirring, for 2 minutes. Add the rice and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Add the water, okra, red bell pepper and Cajun seasoning to the pot. Stir gently until it comes to a boil, cover and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook for an additional 16 minutes then remove from the heat and allow to rest.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the Cajun Shrimp per the package instructions and hold warm.
  3. Divide the dirty rice with Okra between two shallow bowls or deep plates. Top with Cajun Shrimp and then garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy!
